An Investigation of a Kidnapping: Part 2 of 3

Here is part two in a three part series about a little girl getting kidnapped. This time the point of view is of the narrator. Enjoy!

The day was a perfect day. The sun was shining and the birds were out, twittering and chirping. It was the warmest day that the city of Gothsomath had seen that year. All the little girls and boys were out playing in the mud and splashing in the melting puddles of snow. The Farmers Market was at its busiest. Crowds of people flocked there to buy produce on that fine spring day. A little girl was playing with her black puppy, near where her mother stood, when it started to run off. At first it looks like a new game the dog is playing with the girl. First the dog would run off a few paces then when the girl caught up with it, he would run a little further. Soon the little girl was far from her mom and lost, but she didn’t care, she was having too much fun. Her mother didn’t notice either because she was busy talking with a friend she met in the crowd. The little girl continued to chase the little pup up and down the streets when all of a sudden the puppy run off to a dark and secluded alley way. The girl naturally didn’t know she shouldn’t go into dark alley ways alone, so she ran after her dog. But when she got there, to her dismay, the dog was nowhere to be seen. She took a few steps further into the darkness when a figure appeared out of the gloom. Two strong hands snatched her, and she only had time to let out a piercing scream before he bound and gagged her.
