An Investigation of a Kidnapping: Part 1 of 3

This is part one of a 3 part series called An Investigation of a Kidnapping. Each part is from different people’s perspective of what they saw, like the movie Vantage Point. Part one is from the perspective of an Irish woman. Enjoy!

“Tell me exactly what you saw that afternoon, Ms. Hancock.” “Well, sir, I saw the whole thing with my own two eyes’ I did! That poor little girl getting kidnapped and all. Who would’ve thought such a thing could happen! Right under our very noses and in broad daylight too!” “Please, Ms. Hancock, tell me your story from the beginning.” “Yes sir, as I was saying, sir, it was a sunny day, just right for a bit of a walk in the park, if you know what I mean, sir. But I had my shopping to do that day, and I never shop anywhere other than that there farmer market that this incident happened. Anyway, it was busy, so crowded you could hardly move! I’m sure you know what I mean, like being packed tight in a sardine can. Well, like I was saying, this little girl came running through the crowd, I remember how beautiful her silk blue dress looked shimmering in the sunlight. she was just having the time of her life, playing with her little black pup, when all of the sudden I saw that dog bolt right for a dark alleyway, and I remember thinking how odd that was. That poor little girl went running after him yelling his name and looking all worried. Right after she faded into the shadows, a scream pierced the air, so loud you would have thought the sky would’ve split in two! Well, a bunch of us went running over to where that scream had come from, in that dark ally, but there was nothing there, no dog…no girl. The only thing left was a ribbon from the little girls’ hair, blue, it was. Like a little piece of the sky I thought. Well, sir that’s all of the story I’ve got to tell you, for, to tell the truth, the whole incident shocked me so, that I went straight home without even buying my weekly bread!” “Thank you, Ms. Hancock, for that…long story. The police appreciate you cooperation in this investigation.”

God's Creation

This poem I wrote last summer sitting out in my back yard. Nature is a big inspiration in my work.

I look out over the crystal blue sea
And see God’s majestic beauty in front of me
I stare up at the towering trees
And hear God’s voice whispering through the leaves
I close my eyes and feel the warm sunlight rays
And see a vision of God’s heavenly throne, and me singing praise

Welcome to Ink Blotch

Ink Blotch is a collection of my writings, from short stories to poems. Writing is a passion for me, it's a place where the imagination can run wild. Where kingdoms can be built in a day and things quite impossible in our world becomes possible with a few strokes of a pen.
